Fakes, Forgeries and Forbidden Books

10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3–4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15

When people think of crime, they rarely think of someone hunched over, carefully reproducing ink, paper and images to replicate a book. Though most people are aware of book banning, they are unaware of how far back in history censorship goes and the many forms it can take. The Olin Library exhibit explores different aspects of book crimes and censorship.

The Longest Table

5–6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5

The Longest Table, a civic dialogue event featuring (you guessed it) a long table and guided discussion, has taken place in communities across the U.S. This year, WashU will host its second annual Longest Table to kick off election season and the Gephardt Institute’s weekly civic dialogue and learning events, Civic Cafe.
